Project brief
What we delivered…
Building an extension from scratch may sound daunting, but with the right approach and expertise, it’s a rewarding endeavour. Our recent project was all about creating an additional space for our client’s home, and here’s what we did to make it happen.
First things first, we needed a strong foundation. We laid down concrete foundations to support the weight of the new extension. Think of it like building a house – you need a solid base to build upon.
Next up, we tackled the walls. We used 120mm random stone, carefully chosen and arranged to give the extension a sturdy and attractive appearance. We even added two round windows for some extra character, each one hand-chiseled to perfection.
Now, let’s talk about keeping the rain out. For the roof, we went with Firestone rubber roofing. It’s tough stuff, built to withstand the elements and keep the inside of the extension nice and dry. We also added a roof lantern to let in plenty of natural light, making the space feel bright and welcoming.
But we didn’t stop there. We wanted to make sure our client could enjoy the views of their garden, so we installed a sloped glass roof on another section of the extension. It’s like having a window to the sky, bringing a touch of the outdoors inside.
Last but not least, we wanted to make sure the extension looked good from the outside too. That’s why we added oak framed glass and bifold doors at the front, leading out to a decking area. It’s a great spot to relax and enjoy the sunshine.
Overall, building this extension was a lot of hard work, but seeing the finished result makes it all worth it. It’s given our client’s home a whole new lease of life, and we couldn’t be happier with how it turned out.
